Why We Exist
Plumfield Educational Marketplace exists to give educational opportunities and choices to both teachers and families. Teachers are leaving the classroom every day for a variety of reasons. We exist to give these teachers the opportunity to choose their class sizes, enjoy safety from violence, be the expert instructors their education and experience have trained them to be without undue interference from administration or government, and the freedom to give their students a full and comprehensive education. We also give teachers the opportunity to maintain a home/work balance and still be able to do what they love.
The number of homeschooling families is growing every year. They have made the choice to homeschool for many of the same reasons teachers have chosen to leave the classroom. We give families the power to choose. They have the choice of teacher, content, and the teaching style that best fits their student’s learning needs. Parent instructors may be strong in some subjects while feeling unsure or weaker in others. Our marketplace gives parents the opportunity to teach those courses they feel stronger in while leaving the teaching of the courses they feel unsure of or weaker in to experts in that subject area. Parents also have the option of using Plumfield Educational Marketplace for all courses taught.
At Plumfield Educational Marketplace, teachers and parents work together as a team. Parents and teachers work together to ensure each student achieves mastery of each course taken. Our goal is for each student to achieve an education that will prepare them for life no matter what course they choose in the future.
Our vision
Plumfield Educational Marketplace will be the “farmer’s market” for students and teachers. Teacher’s will be free to simply teach using the approach and content that best matches their educational philosophy. Families will have the power of choice. There will be no administrative, governmental or corporate interference. We will raise another “greatest generation” by giving them the best possible education.
